A special Thank you to Lafayette College and Crayola for hosting an open studio for local artist on Thursdays from 7pm to 10pm at the Williams Arts building on 3rd Street, Easton, Pa. It is a wonderful program and very much appreciated.
If you are an artist on any level I recommend participating in a life drawing class in your neighborhood. Even if you have taken a life drawing in college way back when…….you may be a little rusty the first class or two, but it will all kick in again. Enjoy yourself! Draw and relax, you don’t have to share your sketches with anyone if you don’t want to. You will feel better about yourself as an artist!
Life drawing is everything in art; simply as that period. Life drawing is the foundation of drawing, not only figures but all aspects of drawing, painting etc. Life drawing teaches you to see form, lines, shapes, perspective, space, proportions and all how they relate alone and to each other. By the time you are in the third life drawing class you should be starting to “get it” and understanding all drawing principles and able to draw them accurately. Most of these following drawings are two minute gesture drawings, five and ten minutes longer poses. One twenty minute pose as well. I believe as an artist you need to know how to draw in realism before you can be an abstract artist for example. How can an artist be able to manipulate any subject if he doesn’t know how to draw it accurately first?

I like my theme. The header was made in photoshop and transferred to the blog set-up. You probably could make a header in windows gallery or a scrapbooking program. The menu bar will come as you add catagories and then pages. The side bar was made in setup. good luck.
