Remember rule #1 when drawing;   The vanishing points will be off the page when the object you are drawing is up close in scale and realistic; either showing the entire building or part of a building.  The vanishing can be on the same paper when drawing a large building but the angles will be sharp in angles. Draw an object small in scale and the angles will be normal with angles and the vanishing points can be on the paper you are drawing on.
